Josh St. Clair Wins Again at Wiscasset
Wiscasset, ME- Wiscasset Raceway moved their weekly racing program to Sunday this week to allow their fans to do traditional things on the 4th of July like to go to parades, have family barbeques and watch fireworks. When the Wiscasset fans did get to the track on Sunday they got to see fireworks again and I’m not just talking about the ones in the sky. There were fireworks on the track as well. Liberty’s Josh St. Clair picked up his second win of the season at the “Center of Speed” on Accord Auto and Self Storage night. The win for St. Clair was a hard fought one though. He had to hold off T.J. Watson for all thirty laps. Watson would finish second after the race had to be red flagged for Tyler Robbins who broke his wrist in turn one. Third place would go to Steve Reno as he made his return to Wiscasset Raceway. Joey Doyon took home fourth in his first start at Wiscasset driving for Dave St. Clair and fifth would go to Seth Raven.
The Aable Auto Parts Mini Stock feature had a mixture of ages in it. Fourteen year old Ryan Ripley would pick up another feature victory over Pete McCollet who is nearing fifty years of age. Thomas True of Wiscasset would continue his streak of top three finishes crossing the line in third. 2007 division champion Kevin Douglass would take home fourth and Tasha Dyer fifth.
Chad Binette brought his number ninety six U.S. Cellular Mini Truck back to Wiscasset Raceway and was pleased with the decision to do so as he would pick up his third feature win of the season. Kevin Oliver also made his return to Wiscasset a worth while trip as he finished second. Current point leader Ryan Hayes would take home third as Opie and Roger Allard rounded out the the top five.
In the New England Transmission Strictly Street division point leader Mike Moody picked up the feature victory but he to hold off a hard charging Jamie Henderson to do so. Jamie’s father Wally Henderson would take the final spot in victory lane. Ian Bresnehan and Ed Sleeper finished fourth and fifth respectively.
The Verizon Wireless Super Street division put on a great show for the fans. Allan Moeller Jr. picked up his second straight feature victory. He crossed the stripe just in front of Josh St. Clair who was pulling double duty. Jeremy Glasier finished third while Bryan Robbins of Montville and Ricky Merrill finished fourth and fifth.
The Clark’s Car Crushing Pro-Stock’s saw Chuck Colby pick up his second straight feature victory. Gary Smith was hot on his heels though as he crossed the start/finish line. D.J. Shaw would finish third with Scott King and Dave Farrington Jr. rounding out the top five.
