Hudson, NH – With a dominating racecar Jay Maki won his first career Outlaw Sportsman win at Hudson International Speedway on Sunday afternoon September 26th. Maki started on the outside pole and survived getting turned sideways in front of the field after a first lap caution to win. Kevin Kephardt and Ron Bolduc also had podium finishes. Fourth through tenth were Mitch Wendell, Geoff Rollins, Pete “The Travelin’ Man” Fiandaca, Bobby Allen, Ricky Bobby, Keith Dynamite and Tim Casey. Pete Jarek took his old street stock out of mothballs for his first visit to HIS in a decade and came home a respectable 11th out of 23 starters. Maki and Ron Lord Jr. won the heats.
John Morin Jr. won his division leading fifth feature of the 2010 season in the Rookie Stocks. Morin Jr. had the race in hand from early on in the caution-free race. Slika Ennis had his race car “Gertrude” hooked up and running fast and got up to second early on but couldn’t gain ground on Morin Jr. and finished second. Roland Laplante continued his late season surge with his third podium finish in the last three races with a third place finish. Dan Murphy Jr. was all over Leplante the entire race but couldn’t make a pass and settled for fourth. Corrie Merritt dirt-tracked his way to a fifth place finish. Sixth through tenth were Dean Wendell, Jerry Lepage, Charles Roberto, Heath Toutellotte and the grizzled veteran Bob Riopelle. Morin Jr. and Lepage won the heats.

Kobyluck Leads At Dover Before
Accident Relegates Team To 23rd Place Finish
Dover, DE (September 27, 2010): Matt Kobyluck led two laps of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season finale at Dover International Speedway Friday evening before hitting the wall and prematurely ending his day. The No. 40 Mohegan Sun Casino Chevrolet lost a right front tire before the contact was made. They were credited with a 23rd place finish in the race and a tenth place finish in the final point standings.
“We’re a better team than (10th). What it boils down to is that we needed to be more competitive at a lot of the events,” said Kobyluck. “Obviously, finishing tenth in the points is very unsettling for me and very disappointing.”
Kobyluck was confident for the Sunoco 150 after two practice sessions on Thursday afternoon put them among the top-10 fastest cars of the day. He backed that up with a qualifying effort of 150.238 mph (23.962 seconds) to earn a ninth place starting position.

Casazza and Artibani Triumph at Whip City Fall Shootout
BY MARK McKEON
WESTFIELD, MA – John Casazza scored the biggest win of his career by capturing the East Coast Mini Sprint Association 750cc Fall Shootout at Whip City Speedway. Casazza led from flag to flag in the 30 lap event, which was interrupted only once, by a red flag on lap 13 for a tip over by Shelby Kolkata. It was Casazza’s fourth win in five years of racing.
“The car ran great. All we did for the extra laps was put in a little more fuel and take a half a pound of air out of the tires, Casazza said. “Maybe we can take the points lead next week.”
Casazza trails points leader Phil Bessette by just 16 points and Bessette trailed Casazza by about 16 feet across the finish line. “John was faster tonight, and he deserved the win,” Bessette said after the race. Continue reading “Casazza and Artibani Triumph at Whip City Fall Shootout” »
