Mike Landry Tops Super Street National Event

Wiscasset, ME- One year ago at the Ray Haskell Ford fall brawl in the Verizon Wireless Super Street division Mike Landry did it all. He lead 78 laps, he set super fast times and had the field covered. Well that was until lap 98 when after a caution Landry’s car developed a mechanical problem and he was forced to call it a day just 2 laps shy of a $10,000 pay check. This year Landry and his crew double checked everything and then went back and checked it again. Mike Landry held off Jeremy Glasier and Adam Chadbourne over the last three cautions to pick up a win in a race that owed the Oakland, ME. driver one. Glasier would hold off Chadbourne for second with Adam finishing third. Fourth went to Dan MaKeage and fifth to Scott Dorr.

In the Aable Auto Parts Mini Stock National event Thomas True from Wiscasset lead all 50 laps to pick up his fifth win of the season at the track. True held off Ryan Ripley over the closing laps to get the win. Ripley would finish second with Tasha Dyer third. Fourth would go to Jeff Hebert and fifth to Mike Dulany.

The New England Transmission’s Strictly Streets saw Mike Short go wire to wire to get his first National win. Larry Emerson held off Wiscasset Champion Mike Moody for second. Moody would have to fight to get third. Fourth went to Ceaser Morgan and fifth went to Steve Pierpont.

The Outlaw 350’s were also on tap for the finale. Josh Childs led a good part of that race and held off David Childs for the win. David would get second with Chris Burgess third. Fourth place was Zach Emerson and fifth went to Addison Bowie. In the lady Outlaws Tasha Dyer was the victor with Chelsea Young in second and Torrie Burgess.

race between Ray Haskell and Adam Friend where Haskell was victorious. The 100 lap enduro paid $1,000 to win and through complete luck as he confessed Jim Hart was able to hold off David Folsom for the win.      Wiscasset, ME- The Center of Speed 300 this Sunday is a day that is going down in the record books at Wiscasset Raceway. The weather was perfect, the fans where in the stands and the drivers and crews brought their cars. After 140 laps of action packed racing in the Steel’s Real Rod’s and Custom’s Late Model division the last ten laps made the crowd rise to their feet. Harpswell’s T.J. Watson was able to hold of Adam Chadbourne for the $5,000 dollar payday. Not only did the win put money in Watson’s pocket but it also earned him an invitation to the A.CT. race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway next month. Watson already had a deal going with Sally Graves, a late model car owner from New Hampshire that if he did indeed qualified for the race that their team would supply T.J. with a car and that looks like that will be the case. Chadbourne did finish second with Johnny Clark who was pulling double duty coming home third. Fourth went to Steve Reno out of West Bath and fifth went three time LMS champion Chris Thorne from Sidney

The 150 lap Clark’s Car Crushing Pro Stock race was a thriller as well. Johnny Clark showed his dominance through the entire race but in the Scott Chubbuck would get by the three time P.A.S.S. champion on the outside. Chubbuck would take the checkered flag and the $5,000 check. Clark had his hands full but did finish second right in front of defending champion Randy Turner. Scott Moore of North Anson, ME finished fourth and Newcastle’s Charlie Colby finished fifth.

Whoever the winner may be the win is not going to come easy Chris Thorne, Joey Pole and T.J. Watson just to name a few have already signed up. If that wasn’t enough how about the 150 lap Pro-Stock portion of the big weekend which will feature such drivers as Mike Rowe, Scott Chubbuck, Charlie Colby and Scott Moore and more. The biggest news for the weekend though may just be Johnny Clark who will be attempting to compete in both 150 lap races Sunday and is looking to be the first driver to ever win two 150 lap races on the same day at Wiscasset Raceway.
