Sergio Pena Set to Drive for Hattori Racing Enterprises in 2012 East Series
Mooresville, NC – Sergio Pena will be behind the wheel of the # 1 Toyota Camry for Hattori Racing Enterprises for the 2012 NASCAR K & N Pro Series East.
Pena, an 18-year old Winchester, VA native will enter his 3rd season on the K & N Pro Series East in 2012, his first two were as part of the NASCAR Diversity Program. Pena made the racing world take notice in his NASCAR debut at the Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway in 2010 when he beat Sprint Cup veteran Joey Logano for the pole award and finished 2nd in the event – his first time in a K & N Pro Series car. Last season, in just 12 races, he scored three wins, seven top-10 finishes and finished 5th in the series point standings. Dave Davis Motorsports Team Makes Improvements, Sets Sights On ’12
DOVER, Del. – If there’s any driver on the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East that didn’t want to see the season end last weekend at Dover International Speedway, it was Cody Hodgson.
Hodgson finished 16th in the season-ending Dover 150, an impressive effort for the rookie who was forced to pit under the green flag for a flat tire. After being among the fastest of the 33 entries in both final practice and qualifying, some good old-fashioned bad luck took the No. 03 Ocala Gran Prix Dodge out of contention for a win early in the main event.

Eddie MacDonald and the Grimm Racing Team closed out the K&N Pro Series East schedule with an impressive fourth place finish in the Dover 150 at the Dover International Speedway. After “terrible” practice and qualifying sessions, the #71 Grimm Construction Chevy fought its way from a 26th starting position to post its second top five run in the final two events of the season.

In 2010 Ryan Truex, a native of Mayetta, N.J., won his second consecutive NASCAR K&N Pro Series East title and was officially awarded the crown at Dover International Speedway, his home track.
Truex, 19, brother of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Martin Truex Jr., began the 2011 season driving for Pastrana-Waltrip Racing, the team with which he won his K&N championships (then Michael Waltrip Racing). However after 10 races, that opportunity shifted, gearing more toward the preparation for team co-owner and action sports superstar Travis Pastrana to make his way into NASCAR.

Eddie MacDonald crossed the finish line in the rain-shortened New Hampshire 125 in fifth place in the K&N Pro Series East race at the “Magic Mile.” The Rowley, Mass. veteran felt the car was much better than the top five run especially after starting on the outside pole position with a qualifying run of 127.363mph (29.905 sec.) in the 36 car field.

Dave Davis Motorsports Wants Another Crack At Series’ Biggest Track
DENVER, N.C. – Since he left the speedway back in July, Cody Hodgson has been champing at the bit for another crack at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
When the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East heads to the track for this weekend’s New Hampshire 125, Hodgson will get that crack. Practice and qualifying are slated for Thursday, weather permitting, with the green flag at 5 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Eddie MacDonald and the Grimm Racing team rebounded from a blown motor in practice on Thursday for the K&N Pro Series East New England 125 at NHMS but could not overcome a late race penalty to finish in ninth place on Friday. The NEMO-New England Mechanical Overlay Chevy ran in the fourth position when a lap 78 caution gave MacDonald the opportunity to pit for four new tires and return to the track as the last car on the lead lap. When the green flag waved, MacDonald was penalized for an improper line-up forcing a drive- through penalty. The Grimm Construction Chevy returned to the track
in the 28th position one lap down. The #71 quickly passed the leader Brett Moffitt to get the lap back and began a charge to the front but ran out of laps.
