Lemieux, Poirier split Pro finals in Boscawen for East Coast Snocross series,
Presented by AMSOIL and Woody’s Traction
Pilotte, Brunelle earn Pro Lite wins

BOSCAWEN, NH (Feb. 13, 2012) – Sophomore sensation Lincoln Lemieux and two-time champion Danny Poirier notched Pro class victories here over weekend, as East Coast Snocross (ECS) completed Round 4 on the nine-race 2012 schedule in the Granite State of New Hampshire.

Lemieux, of St. Johnsbury, VT, claimed Saturday’s 14-lap Pro Open final in dramatic fashion, while Poirier, of St. Theodore, QC, led all 16 laps to dominate Sunday’s Pro Stock final.
After a tough start where he slotted into ninth on the first lap, Lemieux (Lemieux Racing/Ski-doo) began an exciting charge to the front. Rookie-of-the-Year candidate Michael George (Ingles Performance/Ski-doo) grabbed the holeshot and led lap 1, then teammate Chris Ackerman powered his way into the lead.

Boscawen, NH, next stop for East Coast Snocross series,
Presented by AMSOIL and Woody’s Traction

CHESHIRE, Conn. (Feb. 8, 2012) – In the 20-year history of sanctioned snocross racing here in New England, the Granite State of New Hampshire has played host to some of the sport’s best shows.

Thanks to a dedicated snow-making effort during this nearly snowless winter, that wonderful tradition continues, as East Coast Snocross (ECS) gets set for Round 4 this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 11-12, in beautiful Boscawen, New Hampshire. The event, presented by Banks Chevrolet and billed as the New England Sledfest, is being held on a large piece of land just off Exit 17 off Interstate 93.

With three events and six actual Pro finals now in the books, it’s time to review how the 2012 ECS Rookie of the Year (ROTY) candidates are doing on-track.

Three athletes are battling for top honors as they tackle the challenge of Pro level competition; Chris Ackerman, Michael George and Jacob Muller. All three were stars during their time in Pro Lite (I know, we called it Semi-Pro back then – just what is a “Semi-Pro” anyway?) and were clearly ready to make the move in 2012.

BOONVILLE, N.Y. (Jan. 30, 2012) – Former regional snowmobile racing champion Danny Poirier continued his winning ways over the weekend, sweeping the Pro finals as East Coast Snocross (ECS)completed Round 3 on the nine-race 2012 schedule at the Oneida County Fairgrounds.

Poirier (Bailey Racing/Polaris), of St. Theodore, Quebec, had to work his way up from fourth at the start of Saturday’s Pro Stock final. Lincoln Lemieux (Lemieux Racing/Ski-doo), fresh of his big win in the ECS Challenge at Plattsburgh, grabbed the Holeshot and led the first 11 laps. After Poirier took command at lap 12, Corin Todd (Camara Racing/Arctic Cat) charged his way to third in the closing laps. At the end of 16 grueling laps, it was Poirier, Lemieux and Todd. Poirier’s margin of victory was a mere two seconds.

(Dec. 28, 2011) — Officials at East Coast Snocross (ECS) are working behind the scenes to put together The Second Annual ECS Challenge, a special high-purse race for riders in the Pro and Pro-Lite Divisions during the upcoming event at Crete Civic Center in Plattsburgh, NY on January 14 & 15, 2012. The ECS Challenge II ($5,000 Purse) will be a non-points, open format race with two rounds of qualifying on Saturday and the big event scheduled on Sunday. CHESHIRE, Conn. (Dec. 2, 2011) – For the first time in several years, there is no true favorite on the northeastern regional snocross scene as a new season draws near.

When it was announced last summer that 2011 ECS Pro champion Mathieu Morin had signed with BOSS Racing for an assault on the ISOC national title, racers across New York and New England let out a sigh of relief, just as they did one year earlier when 2010 champion Bobby LePage headed back west to ride for Levi LaVallee.
