Ryan Hayes Picks Up First Career Win at Wiscasset Raceway!

Wiscasset, ME- Ryan Hayes is a busy kid. Not only does he have
the hectic life of a 17 year old Erskine Academy Senior but the
Jefferson, ME resident is also hard at work becoming an Eagle Scout,
playing varsity basketball and being on the track team. Oh yeah and by
the way, he is also busy racing in the U.S. Cellular Mini Track
division at Wiscasset Raceway where he picked up his first career
feature victory Saturday night on Ray Haskell Ford night at the center
of speed. Ryan started on the pole and led every lap of the 15 lap
event, holding off Russ Anderson of Portsmith, NH and Gray?s Kevin
Oliver for the win. Anderson and Oliver would finish second and third
respectively while Josh Hajula and Bruce Oren rounded out the top
five.

In the Aable Auto Parts Mini Stock division Waldoboro?s Ryan
Ripley was able to overcome lapped traffic and a lot of pressure from
Thomas True to get the feature victory. True would finish second and
Mike Mason would get his first Wiscasset Raceway trophy finishing in
the third spot. Mike Wilson took home fourth in his first trip to
Wiscasset this year and Pete McCollet would finish fifth after coming
from the back of the pack after a racing incident with point leader
Kevin Douglass.

The New England Transmission?s Strictly Street division saw a new
face in victory lane this year. Litchfield?s Wally Henderson got his
first win at Wiscasset Raceway this year. The win was Wally?s first in
six years. The win did not come easy for the veteran driver though as
he had to hold off point leader Mike Moody over the closing laps.
Moody would finish second with Mike Hodgkin?s driving for Maurice
Young Motorsports taking home third. Wally?s son Jamie Henderson would
end up fourth with Ian Bresnehan fifth.

Your Verizon Wireless Super Street division had current point
leader Shawn Austin picking up the checkered flag. About half a
straightway back from him Jeremy Glasier of Appleton held of Josh
St.Clair to take home second. Allan Moeller Jr. would get fourth with
Jason Gaboury settling for the fifth position.

The Clark?s Car Crushing Pro Stock?s put on a great show. Scott
Moore and Jeff Burgess ran side by side for about twenty laps before
the two tangled coming into turn one. With the caution period lasting
a long time and the rain starting to come down track officials decided
to call the race. Charlie Colby would end up getting the feature win.
Youngster Dave Farrington turned in his best career finish coming home
second. Third would go to Joe Creamer. Moore would end up fourth with
Scott King in fifth.

Karkos clobbers field in Subway 100; “Slick Nick,” 18, is a Late

Karkos clobbers field in Subway 100; “Slick Nick,” 18, is a Late Model winner

OXFORD, Maine - The same, old Mini Stock domination by Justin Karkos
and a fresh, new Late Model winner highlighted Saturday night at
Oxford Plains Speedway.
Karkos cruised to victory by a margin of more than nine seconds in the
Subway 100 main event.
He was forced to share the spotlight, however, with 18-year-old Nick
Brown, who became one of the youngest headline division feature
winners in OPS history with his 40-lap triumph.
Mike Short (Strictly Stock), Jim Davis Jr. (Outlaw) and Cathy
Manchester (Ladies) also scored victories.
Karkos drove around former division champion Dan Morris on lap 36 and
set sail from the second-place battle between Morris, Jimmy Childs and
Ashley Marshall.
With no caution flags to slow his progress over the second half of the
event, Karkos’ only threat was slower traffic. He calmly slowed his
pace just enough over the final 20 laps to steer clear and still
finish a half-lap ahead of runner-up Childs.
It was the third win in the last four weeks for Karkos, who has led at
least one lap in five of the first six races after winning seven times
in 2008.
“That was fun. I think we put on a show,” said Karkos, who bowed to
the crowd Kyle Busch-style with his pit crew at the start-finish line.
Ashley Marshall made a late-race move around Morris to claim third,
with Jake Burns edging Shane Kaherl for fifth. Kaherl was the last
driver on the lead lap.
Brown missed a race late last month to attend his senior prom at Morse
High School. Mercifully, graduation ceremonies were last Sunday,
preventing the second-year Late Model racer from having to skip a
second Saturday night.
He wouldn’t have wanted to miss this one for the world. Brown snagged
the lead from Ron Charpentier Jr. on a restart shortly before the
halfway point and survived another resumption with 10 laps to go for
the breakthrough victory.
“You can’t imagine the smile on my face right now. I can’t believe I’m
even out here after all those years of watching up there (in the
grandstands),” said Brown, who was a multi-time champion in Oxford’s
JARRacing Photography Go Kart Series in his early teens.
Shawn Knight matched his Late Model career-best second place in
controversial fashion, as contact from his front bumper sent mentor
and runner-up Tim Brackett for a spin with under two laps remaining.
The two drivers typically park side-by-side in the OPS garage.
“I feel terrible, and I hope he’ll understand,” Knight said. “I was
having to hold the car in gear on that last green-flag run and steer
it with one hand, and unfortunately that’s what happened. I think I
had enough car to get to the outside and fight for the win without
that problem.”
Kenny Harrison held off four-time champion Travis Adams by a fender
for third, with Shawn Martin fifth.
Short earned a measure of vindication for last week, when he was
disqualified from a Strictly Stock win after the post-race inspection.
This time, he dominated the final 21 laps to snag his second official
victory in three weeks by a wide margin over Tommy Tompkins.
Larry Emerson hopped the curb to miss a wild scramble in the final
turn to claim third, less than a foot in front of reigning champion
Skip Tripp. Tripp’s team scrambled to get the car ready in time for
the feature after a crash at the end of his qualifying race.
Davis won his third straight Outlaw start, backing up consecutive
triumphs in the Wednesday night Acceleration Series.
David Childs (second) and Chris Burgess (third) whittled Davis’
dominant early lead to nothing but fell a car length shy.
“My set-up wasn’t real hot tonight,” said Davis. “I got out to a
pretty big lead, and all of a sudden I saw those guys coming and said
I’d better step it up.”
Twenty-three cars started the caution-free Outlaw scramble, with Guy
Childs and Jerry Goss rounding out the top five.
Manchester led all 20 laps of the Ladies tangle, matching second-place
Dottie Patria and third-place Vanna Brackett in the wins category with
her second of the season.
“Starting up front was a stroke of good luck,” said Manchester. “I
love it when Dottie and I finish one-two.”
Patria, the defending Ladies champion, secured that status by passing
Brackett to the outside in the final corner.

Mike Ramsey wins Wildcat 50 lap special event at Beech Ridge Motor

Mike Ramsey wins Wildcat 50 lap special event at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.

Scarborough,Maine- Mike Ramsey used a late race caution flag to his
advantage and captured the annual 50 lap race for the Wildcat division
on Saturday night. D.J. Shaw, Bobby Nadeau and Matt Dow also shared
victory lane on this fog filled evening of racing.

Shawn Gilpatrick jumped into the lead at the wave of the green flag
for the 50 lap Wildcat race. Gilpatrick would soon go under attack
from Gary Babineau as the 2 leaders started a side by side duel for
the lead at lap 9. Babineau went in front on the 10th trip around the
oval but Gilpatrick still had the inside lane.

Gilpatrick poked his nose back in front on lap 15 and then Babineau
went back in front 1 lap later as Gilpatrick wiggled exiting turn 4.
Babineau was now in cruise control opening up a comfortable lead as
the race appeared to be headed to a green-to-checkered run. The
complexion of the race changed when the caution flag waved on lap 46
setting up a Babineau- Mike Ramsey front row restart.

Coming to the green flag, Ramsey got a quicker start and took the lead from

Babineau but it was not over yet. Ramsey was driving hard and
washing up in the corners and Babineau was trying to get to the inside
as they swapped paint and bumps for the final 4 laps until Ramsey got
to the finish a half car length in front for the win. Babineau was
second with Darin Kilton third, Gilpatrick fourth and Dan Bean fifth.

D.J. Shaw won for the first time at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway
Saturday night taking a dominating victory. Walt Pugsley led for the
first 14 laps until Dan McKeage took over on lap 14 following a
restart. McKeage would stay in front until lap 20 when Shaw went to
the inside and took over. Once in front Shaw pulled away from the
field in commanding fashion despite having to start the race at the
rear of the field.

Bill Rodgers finished second with McKeage third. Bub Bilodeau and Jay
Sands were fourth and fifth at the finish.

Bobby Nadeau passed Frank Wear 21 laps into the 35 lap Sport Series
race and went on for his first checkered flag of the season. The race
was slowed 5 times by the caution flag and despite the field staying
bunched up Nadeau was able to cruise into the win. Wear finished
second and Doug Wolfe third. Russ Morse was fourth and Dalton Gagnon
fifth at the end of the 35 lap run.

Matt Dow rounded out the evening of winners as he took down the 20 lap
Road Runner feature race honors. Dow took over the lead on lap 3 and
was chased to all the way from that point to the finish by Shawn
Brackett. Point leader Ray Letellier was third with Clayton Loubier
fourth. Ed Connolly rounded out the top 5 finishers.

PASS North: Two wins in a Row for Rowe

Naples ME (June 14) Ben Rowe hung out in the top five for the majority
of Saturday night?s Pro All Stars Series (PASS) 200 at Geary New
Brunswick?s Speedway 660 and took the lead from Kirk Thibeau for good
on lap 149 to claim his second PASS North super late model win of
2009.

Adam Bates chased Rowe to the checkers and Nova Scotian John Flemming
returned to PASS competition with a third place finish. Kirk Thibeau
hung on to finish fourth with Travis Benjamin fifth. Kelly Moore
rebounded from a spectacular wreck at the touring series? last outing
at White Mountain Motorsports Park with a sixth place run. Lonnie
Sommerville dominated the first half of the 200 lap grind, but a flat
shortly after the half way break set him back to seventh Richie
Dearborn, Shawn Tucker, and Greg Fahey completed the top ten.

Problems beset a number of the PASS front runners. Johnny Clark lost a
right front wheel on lap 68, sending the point leader into the sand
banks. Clark returned many laps down to salvage a 14th place finish.
DJ Shaw started on the pole but suffered a flat tire and lost several
laps, eventually finishing fifteenth. An early race wreck claimed
Cassius Clark, local racer Brent Wiggins and Scott Alexander. Local
super late model favorite Dave O?Blenis was out at the half-way mark.

Nine cars completed the 200 lap distance. The lead changed hands six
times amongst five drivers; eleven cautions slowed the race. DJ Shaw,
Kelly Moore and Adam Bates claimed the qualifying races.

Next weekend it?s a doubleheader for the PASS super late models. The
PASS South warriors head for Georgia?s New Senoia Raceway for the
Dixie 150 on Saturday night June 20th. The PASS North teams will take
on ?Maine?s toughest oval?, Unity Raceway on Sunday afternoon June
21st for the NAPA 150. The PASS Mod and PASS Sportsman series complete
that card, and there are two-for-one admission coupons available now
at all northern New England NAPA stores.

All-Star Speedway 6-13 Race Report

Posted in: Latest News | | No Comments »>

Epping, NH ? Former Super Late Model champion J.R. Baril added his
name to the 2009 winner?s list at All-Star Speedway on Saturday night,
taking home his first All-Star Modified win of the season in the
40-lap main event.

Eric Hudson once again jumped out to the early lead, but Dana Smith
quickly knocked him off the point, moving out front to set the pace.
Baril challenged Smith for the lead for several laps, but he
eventually lost the second spot to the hard-charging Joe Lemay.

Lemay was challenging Smith for the lead with ten laps remaining, but
he suffered mechanical failure and dropped out of the race. Baril was
up to battle Smith for the lead on a late-race restart, and he took
the outside groove past the leader.

Once out front, Baril pulled ahead by a couple of car lengths, and he
stayed out front until the checkers, hanging on to score his first win
of the season. Smith got his best finish of the year in the second
spot, with Hudson, Sumner Scott, and Bill Boudreau rounding out the
top five.

Gary Beauregard dominated the action in the Super Streets, pulling
away to an impressive lead on his way to victory. Rob DeAlmeida, a
winner the week before, broke past Sulo Burbank for second seven laps
in, but Beauregard was already gone.

DeAlmeida couldn?t overcome rear brake problems, or Beauregard?s
straightaway lead over the balance of the event. At the checkers, it
was Beauregard in for the win, with DeAlmeida, Burbank, Geoff
MacGillivary, and Matt Kawejsza the rest of the top five.

Mike Williams came out on top of a race-long battle to score his
second Strictly Stock win of the season aboard the Mike White entry,
holding off a tough Keith Walton to collect the victory.

Walton was forced to settle for a runner-up finish, with Mark
Parenteau, Randy Carmichael, Chris Augevich, Matt Robinson, Chuck
Roberto, Johnny Gervais, John Cashman, and Jimmy Gervais the rest of
the top ten.

Joey Fernandez picked up his first checker of the year in the
Fast-4?s, outrunning ken Mailhot, two-time winner Tyler Mailhot, Cory
Sullivan, and Greg Cummings for the win.

Sean Kennedy Wins Toromont CAT 100

Ottawa, ON ? Sean Kennedy of Dunrobin, ON won the Toromont CAT 100 at
his hometrack, Capital City Speedway. Kennedy took the lead from
another local Matt Moffiitt on lap 25 and never looked back. The
Capital City Speedway regulars used their experience on the third-mile
oval to their advantage and two of them finished in the top five.

2008 ACT Tour Champion Patrick Laperle won a late battle with Jonathan
Urlin to capture the second place position. Urlin came home third,
followed by Matt Moffitt, and Yvon Bedard rounded out the top five.
Last week?s winner, Donald Theetge finished sixth, chased to the line
by Daniel Descoste, Pier-Luc Ouellette, Brandon Watson, and Ken Baird
finished in the top ten.

Unofficially, nine cars finished on the lead lap of the 100 lap event
that was slowed by seven cautions. The last caution came on lap 44 as
the final 56 laps were run without a yellow.

Kennedy becomes the ninth driver to qualify for the ACT Invitational
at New Hampshire Motor Speedway as there have been no repeat winners
in the combined nine events on the Series ACT Castrol and the ACT
Tour. Kennedy becomes the only qualifier so far from the Province of
Ontario. He joins drivers from Vermont, New Hampshire and Quebec.

The Series ACT Castrol will be at Riverside Speedway in St-Croix, QC
next Saturday, June 20. The ACT Tour will also be running next
Saturday as they were rained out at Waterford Speedbowl this weekend.

White washes Oxford Networks LM field; Childs holds off Karkos in Mini showdown

OXFORD, Maine - Jeff White’s total destruction of his Oxford Networks
Late Model ride last week was the worst thing that could have happened
… for his competition.
The White Lightning race team put the No. 50 back together better and
faster than before, as evidenced by a convincing victory in Saturday
night’s 40-lap feature victory at Oxford Plains Speedway.
White, who picked up his first top-division win in 10 seasons of
trying late last summer, took the lead on lap 5 and dominated the
caution-free encounter. He beat former OPS champion Tim Brackett to
the checkers by a margin of more than 1.3 seconds.
“If you saw the race last week, you know how bad (the wreck) was. We
busted our humps to get here,” White said.
Teenager Ben Ashline finished on the podium for the second straight
week, taking away third from impressive Gerald Parlin over the final
five laps. Parlin was a career-best fourth, with four-time champion
and two-time 2009 feature winner Travis Adams making a late-race
charge in the outside lane to fifth.
One winning streak continued and another ended in accompanying
Championship Series feature action.
Mike Short backed up his 100-lap victory in last week’s Allen’s Coffee
Flavored Brandy Strictly Stock main event with a 30-lap triumph on Sun
Journal Night.
Short went three-wide to move from fifth to second on lap 10 before
taking the top spot away from Kim Tripp on the following circuit.
Nobody was able to challenge Short without the help of a caution down
the stretch. Reigning division champion Skip Tripp was second, with
B.J. Chapman holding off 2007 champ Tommy Tompkins — making his first
start of the season — for third. Jeff Merrill emerged from a tense,
five-car battle for fifth.
Jimmy Childs, who returned this year the Allen’s Mini Stock division
where he won a pair of division championships, snapped Justin Karkos’
two-race run when he held off the red-hot Karkos by less than a car
length.
It was the first win of the season for Childs, who scored a Late Model
victory in 2008.
Darrell Moore was third after his runner-up effort a week ago,
followed by former champion Dan Morris and Larry Melcher. After a
rough 30-lap race one week ago, the Minis went flag-to-flag without a
stoppage.
Troy Jordan (Macdonald Motors Runnin’ Rebel) and Ryan Farrar (Call of
the Wild RV Center Sport Truck) were tops in Agren Appliance Saturday
Showdown action.
Jordan led his teammates Matt Dufault and Jason Berry in a 1-2-3 sweep
of the 30-lap Runnin’ Rebel event.
Twenty-five cars started the race, with Derek Cook dominating early
before his mechanical woes allowed Jordan to speed away with ease.
Charlie Webster took fourth, with Gerard Cote enjoying his second
straight fifth-place finish.
Farrar ascended to the top of the podium after three consecutive
runner-up finishes to start the season. John Lizotte, Jeff Schmidt,
Herb Farrar and Kevin Oliver completed the top five in the 10-lap
sprint.
OPS gets the green flag again this Wednesday, June 17 with the
Acceleration Series at 6:30 p.m. Next Saturday’s Double T Fence Night
includes a 100-lap Mini Stock showcase.

Pelletier, Davis, Hendsbee and Rich first-time 2009 winners on fast Friday

OXFORD, Maine ? Four drivers captured their first feature wins of the
season in their current division on a closely contested Friday night
of JARRacing Photography Go Kart Series action at Oxford Plains
Speedway.
Dan Pelletier Jr. pulled off the most exciting move of many on the
evening, getting underneath leaders Charlie Tyler and Brandon Douglas
in three-wide formation with only three laps remaining in the 13-kart
Unrestricted main event.
Pelletier, a champion in three different youth divisions, pedaled on
to his initial victory of the season in the 15-and-up Sportsman ranks.
Tyler finished second with rookie Douglas third.
Troy Davis, like Pelletier a frequent winner and multi-time champion
in the entry-level divisions, captured his first victory in only his
second try at Gold Plate.
Jacob Hendsbee (Blue Plate) and Zachary Rich (Purple Plate) also
visited victory lane for the first time on the young campaign.
Mike Ricker (Star Champ) and Kyle Mooney (Box Stock) each pulled off
their second triumph. Mooney has four in all through the first three
weeks.
Davis=2 0swapped the lead with Spencer Thompson three times before
taking command for good on lap 7 of the Gold Plate encounter.
Thompson, also a champ in supporting classes, held off opening-night
winner Avery Spear for second.
Hendsbee led all 20 laps of the Blue Plate battle while Wade
Blanchette, Evan Armington and Brandon Varney tussled behind him.
It was heat winner and division point leader Blanchette getting the
best of the runner-up battle. Armington backed up last week’s victory
with a third-place trophy.
Rich led the first half of the Purple Plate scramble, then lost it to
Varney for three circuits before reclaiming it for the duration.
Mooney shadowed him much of the way in pursuit of his third straight
win in the division to start the season, but the young lion settled
for second. Owen Poisson enjoyed his best run to date in third.
Ricker lost the Star Champ point to Stephen Beattie, but night-long
ignition problems sent Beattie to the pit during a lap 16 caution flag
for Douglas’ spin.
That allowed Ricker to reclaim the top spot and his second win of the
spring. Douglas, making his first Star Champ start, stayed a wide
margin in front of the ailing Beattie for second.
M ooney watched Ethan Matot and Ethan Brown lead the Box Stock sprint
early, but he had no problems breezing to his second win after moving
to the head of the class on lap 3.

Dave Pembroke Makes It Back To Back

Barre, VT ? Dave Pembroke of Montpelier, VT takes home the first Late
Model stock car weekly event on Ferguson Waterworks Night at Thunder
Road International Speedbowl. Pembroke outran runner up finisher Nick
Sweet of Barre, VT to capture his second straight feature win at the
Barre high-banks of Thunder Road. Pembroke?s previous win came at
Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic in May. For the first points
counting event of the 2009 Thunder Road Late Model season, a draw and
+/- system were used. Pembroke used it to his advantage by capturing a
+6 in his heat race.

Sweet did all he could to get by Pembroke but had to settle for
second. He was followed to the line by Jamie Fisher, Cris Michaud and
Jerry Lesage to round out the top 5. John Donahue came home sixth,
trailed by Trampas Demers, Tony Andrews, Jean-Paul Cyr and Mike Bailey
came home tenth.

Joey Laquerre of East Montpelier, VT took home the win in the NAPA
Tiger Sportsman on Ferguson Waterworks Night. He pulled away from
runner-up Matt Potter, Shawn Fleury, Brendan Moodie and fifth place
finisher Tim Potter. Cody Blake, James Hebert, Mike Ziter, Tony Rossi,
and Joel Hodgdon all captured top ten finishes.

2008 Allen Lumber Street Stock Champion Jason Corliss of Danville, VT
took home the win in the Allen Lumber Streets and Powershift Junkyard
Warriors Main Event. Coming home second was David Whitcomb and third
was ?Super? Joe Fecteau. The only two Powershift Junkyard Warriors
were Kevin Streeter of Waitsfield taking the win and Ken Christman
came home second.

Unbelievably Ferguson Waterworks went off with no ?waterworks.? The
rain could be seen all around Thunder Road International Speedbowl but
only a few sprinkles were felt at the track.

Both the ACT Tour and the Series ACT Castrol are in action this
Saturday, June 13. The ACT Tour will be at Waterford Speedbowl in
Connecticut, while the Series ACT Castrol will be at Capital City
Speedway in Ontario. The ?Nation?s Site of Excitement? will be back in
action next Thursday, June 18 for Harvest Equipment Night with a
special appearance by racing legend Bobby Allison.

Norm Wrenn and Larry Barnett Scored Wins Before Mother Nature Won the
Remainder of the Evening

Thompson, CT (June 11, 2009) Norm Wrenn brought home the checkers in
the Super Late Model race on Thursday Night at Thompson International
Speedway. Larry Barnett won the Limited Sportsman feature just days
after undergoing arthroscopic surgery. Ten laps into the 50-Lap Late
Model race, Mother Nature took over, the rain started and the race
program was brought to a halt. The race will be rescheduled and will
begin at lap 10 in the order they were in when the rains came. The
Sunoco Modifieds, TIS Modifieds and Mini Stock races will also be
rescheduled. Check back on www.thompsonspeedway.com for the make-up
dates.

The night started out with a special event. Derek Ramstrom driver of
the #35 Super Late Model has been racing here at Thompson since
before he was licensed to drive on the street. He is a junior at West
Boylston High School in West Boylston, MA. Many of his friends have
never seen him race; tonight they got the chance. To make it extra
special there was a drawing held at the school and the winner was
Jared Peterson. By winning the drawing, he got lucky enough to get a
ride-along in a modified provided by the Ken Bouchard Driving School
with Derek driving. When track announcer Russ Dowd asked what Jared
thought he said,? it was a pretty amazing ride.? He said he wasn?t
nervous but anxious while waiting to get out on the track- ?it was
awesome I can?t even describe it.?

The Super Late Models had a hard time getting started as there was a
multi-car wreck going into turn 2 on the first lap. Involved were
George Bessette, Jay Macedonio, and Derek Ramstrom just to name a few.
Marc Curtis took the worst of it as his car was towed off the track.
Larry Gelinas was the new driver of the Rolly Lindblad #48; he was
also collected in the crash but continued on.

Jim Banfield led the field down to the green on the restart with Steve
Desmarais outside him. Desmarais took the lead to complete lap 1.
George Bessette came along for the ride into third with Norm Wrenn and
Jeff Zuidema rounding out the top five.

Mike O?Sullivan was putting pressure on Zuidema in fifth looking low
lap after lap. Ramstrom was also on a mission picking off cars on his
charge back towards the front. The leader, Desmarais, was being shown
the black flag for leaking fluids giving the lead to Banfield. The
yellow flew on lap 15 as Mike Rivard hit the wall on the front
stretch.

Banfield and Bessette brought the field back to the green with
Bessette taking the lead. Norm Wrenn and Jeff Zuidema were battling
for third. O?Sullivan and Dave Silvia were also looking to make some
moves. O?Sullivan got past Zuidema on lap 18. Ramstrom got by 2 cars
on lap 19 to bring him into the top 5.

The yellow flew again for an incident with Les Rose and Jeff Hartwell.
Zuidema brought his car onto pit road for some attention by his crew
during this yellow. Gelinas pulled his car behind the wall in his
debut in the 48 car.

On the restart George Bessette had to battle with Wrenn for the lead.
Wrenn got into Bessette sending him around. Ramstrom was once again
involved as well as Jay Macedonio. Wrenn again brought the field to
the green. Banfield was holding strong in second. Rick Fuller was in
third. The yellow flew again on lap 21 for a spin by Mike O?Sullivan

Wrenn again took the lead on the restart. Silvia was now moving up
taking fourth and looking under Fuller. Les Rose was trying to muscle
his way past Silvia. He settled back in line and now had pressure
from behind from Bessette. Ramstrom now was battling past Bessette
and set his sights on Rose. He took the spot on lap 26.

Coming down to get the white flag Fuller and Silvia were battling hard
for the lead. Fuller spun giving the spot to Silvia. Norm Wrenn took
down his third win of the season. Banfield held on to finish second
followed by Silvia, Ramstrom and Rose.

Tommy O?Sullivan led the Late Model division to the green flag to
start their 50 lap feature. Right away they went 3 wide fighting for
fourth. Luckily everyone settled into position without any incidents.
Jay Stuart got into John Materas and gave Materas some cosmetic
alterations to his car.

O?Sullivan pulled out to a hefty lead with Stuart, Tom Fox, Mark
Oliveira and Jeff Zuidema rounding out the top 5. Stuart moved into
second. The yellow flew for a spin by Frank Mirabito. Rick Gentes
had pulled into the pits just before the yellow flew.

The red flag came out during this yellow as it started to drizzle.
Unfortunately, the drizzle became rain and the race was called.

Fred Bates brought the Limited Sportsman division down to take the
first green flag of the night. Larry Barnett had arthroscopic surgery
on Monday but he was in the car tonight and running in the top five
and on the move. Jay Sundeen took the lead on lap 5. Barnett moved
into second and looked for the lead. He took over the lead coming out
of turn 4 on lap 6.

The caution flew on lap 7 for a three car wreck in turn two. Joe
Campbell, Tom Shea and Paul Palen were all involved. Palen was the
only one able to continue on.

Barnett led the charge to the restart. Jay Sundeen and Scott Sundeen
kept it all in the family for second and third. Joe Arena and ?Moose?
Douton rounded out the top 5 at half-way. And that is the way they
took the checkers. Barnett earned himself an extra $100 from Town
Fair Tire for his victory.
